How much should i sell my bike for? 09 600rr

So i had my bike posted and just re posted for sale. Given the tendency for buyers to low-ball and sellers (guilty once) to overprice i thought i'd turn this on the community.

*Disclosure Only selling because i have to downsize the bike to get a decent cage :(... That being said i'd keep it and take the bus if i don't get a fair price :D If things change I prefer the keeping it option.

I bought it brand new, no upgrades except tank guard sticker and tank and tail bags if i include them.
It's black and green , completely stock (stickers still on LOL).. Just put a Q2 rear tire on before season end and needs new front for next season.
To give you an idea of how i use it its the 1st tire replacement.
The kicker is i've used it for awesome back country touring now has 16,000 kms. Given some people tracking, disconnecting cluster or riding to tims my Kms is bad for resale.
On the upside i'm a sucker for maintenance and have all service records on time since day 1 from dealer.
I know how i used it is not factored into the price but it makes it hard for me to fire-sell it.
Now i ask what would you the great GTA community price my bike for?
Thanks GTA peeps!

Going to try and help you out a bit

I bought a 2010 GSXR 750 with 3000km for less than what you are asking.

I understand you paid your hard earned cash on the bike but the buying population does not care about that, neither do they care if you babied the bike or changed oil every 200km with motul or whatever.

An average bike from 2009 should have approximately 9000km, I'm not saying this is right, I am just saying that when you look at most bikes comparable to yours they have way less than 16000, for what I see the average is about 9k

Also if you add taxes to your price (which the purchaser has to pay) they are paying cash for a total of approximately 9700 once all is said and done. Now ask yourself, do you really think its worth it for a 16000km 3 year old bike?

I have a 2002 Honda civic, still looks like new, engine is perfect, interior is perfect, to me is worth at least 6k, if I try to sell it, I will be lucky if I get 2k for it, it is the reality

You will be lucky if you get over 7800

Half the km, still to expensive

^ You're more generous than I am.
if that was my bike i'd be asking $8k and accept 7500 +/-...

ps if your car is as clean as you say, you can get more for it than $2k...

I agree with you, I think 7500 is the right price, hence why I said lucky if he gets 7800.

I will never sell my car, even if I get 3k, its not worth it for me to sell it. It has the front suspension to be done and that will bring the value down

Two or so years ago, I bought a brand new 08' left over ZX10R from the states with zero kilometers and paid less than $8000 for it.

These days when I look at bike prices, I compare to the States as well, so over $9000 for a 3 year old bike with 16000 km on it, to me is insane. You can probably get a brand new one for less than that from the States.

Not trying to be rude but just saying, there are many people who look at it this way as well so...If I was you I would ask for $7500 and maybe sell for $7000 if the deal was about to be made.

This is the figure I had in mind as well. Last year I could buy a brand new 09 CBR600RR for $9000+tax.

Very nice bike. $7000 - 7200 with the new tire.

Used Moto prices are odd.
One bike is in calgary different market & it's a dealer.
The other has obviouse signs of sliding sideways down a road. Scratches on the mirror like that aren't from the wind....

Quickly looking on Kijji 7 grand is what 06and o7's are asking; true they may not sell for that.

This bike: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...2013-LOTS-OF-GOODS-1-owner-W0QQAdIdZ355887110
will sell before mine because it has goodies and no one cares on how these things get abused.

Thanks everyone for the info & advice helps me see closer to reality guess i'll add OBO and see. I understand the loss i took buying new. Personaly the maintenance makes a difference in price when i buy and it's true most don't care.
I bought the bike to use, i don;t regret the KMS ; never thought of selling it. I never cared but it's a low vin # one of the first 1% made; won't matter untill 4o years later LOL just throwing it out there.

I hear you, I had a 2008 zx6r, bought it new and when someone hit me from behind last year and got totaled it had 44000 on it, I had to take a bit of a hit from the insurance company because all the bikes they compared mine with had 11000 average.

I think yours is beautiful and it looks in a good shape, that's why I said 7800 to be fair, most people will want to give you less. Good luck

I think the biggest issue is the fact the CBR RR 600's have remained virtually unchanged since 2007. The 07-08 are more powerful and tend to be more plentiful which means you have a lot of competition. Pricing and color are really the only two things for you to make work for you.

On another side of things GTA pricing in my opinion and many other people who do due diligence when it comes to making such a purchase realize this as well and look for deals outside of the GTA. To give you and idea I purchased an 07 with 6000km less for almost $2000 less then your asking including my time and transportation costs to go pick it up in Northern Ontario. It as well included all dealer records I even was able to receive documentation from the service manager and arrange for a pre-delivery inspection.

If you want to get rid of it then price it low $6000. If you want to sit on it then $7000. Personally my time is worth the $1000 bucks so i'd dump it low.

I got the front tire on her. Suddenly i don't "neeed" a car :) I'll get used to getting soaked in the rain. and no jokes i won't take $7000 for her That's roughly trade in value. I appreciate the advice regardless.
Btw the 09 was quite changed. The full fairing gets rid of the heat issue and engine noise. More torque- re-designed engine, new pistons ect. The loss in power due to emissions (ECU) everyone brings up is unnoticeable 4hp difference ? The best part of the 09 is the power comes on lower in the rev range. That makes a difference p.s have to defend her she's back!

Go check dyno curves of 2007 vs 2009...... No difference in midrange or low end.
I didn't notice a heat or noise issue either.

07-12 are virtually unchanged - minor tweaks at best...cosmetically, they introduced that not so attractive stator/clutch fairing cover that makes the already fat looking cbr even more fat. There's no reason why i would choose a similarly conditioned used '07 over a '11.

When it comes to selling bikes, look at what others are asking, then price yours a bit lower and hope for a decent buyer. You have to totally forget what the bike means to you, how much you've spent on it, how it's been babied, sellers care about one thing - price..

My two cents

Dave

Good deal!!! I thought mine was good cause the guy lost his job and instead of loosing the bike completely he sold it for what he owed.

I didn't pry too much but all she said was they were together for 10+ years and he ****ed up. Since she bought him the bike she had the right to sell it.

nice girl too..... ;)
