Hotel/motel with 'Common' computers near deals gap?

A friend an I are heading to Deals gap in september.

Looking for a hotel that has a public pc that we could use to copy files from the go pro/contours to a external hard drive.

I know I could buy more Sd cards, or bring a laptop.. but that costs money or valuable packing space.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Besides riding any other "must see" things in the area? I know I could search, but since you are already here... why not share :)

Fontana Village has a computer in the main foyer that you can use.

Fontana computer is good for surfing. not sure if you can copy to/from. Most computers like that are restricted but worth a try.
Other things to see and do...Hmm could be a big list!
If you have the extra time. Barbers motorsport museum in Alabama..worth it and then some!
Around 129. Fontana dam (top and bottom), Cherokee (Niagara falls of the south), the falls off the Cherohala skyway.

enjoy!

Oh yeah..Its actually a great idea to get the chance to view your gopro shots. I have way too many pictures and video of me looking into the lens with the stupid "is it on" look on my face.

full lap could be cumbersome, maybe a netbook? they are cheap, maybe $150.00 and very small and light

I know many hotel pc's are restriced, but I dont need to use any 'space' on the pc.. just copy from sd card (i'd bring a reader) and copy to an external USB drive (1TB) I would think most would allow the use of 'usb' keys - this is no different.

suzuki2000 - yes a full laptop would be too big. Im trying to see about getting one of those asus eepc's 7" netbooks - these were the first of the real 'netbooks' pretty cheap on ebay now.

Thanks all for the tips.

I carry a netbook with me when riding....but I also have a single wheeled trailer behind me. I 've even been known to drag along a PS3 and a bunch of games...? The trailer is already a given size, and half empty, it doesn't get any smaller, so if it isn't full, why not? LOL

Might be worth it to buy/borrow a netbook, or if you're feeling rich a MacBook Air is only $1000 now. I wouldnt rely on someone else's computer

If your considering a netbook consider the HD size before you grab one. My HP mini 110 only has a 160Gig HD . I was down there last month and one of the guys was shooting so much GoPro video he overnight shipped a external hard drive in.

While your down there do the Dragon, Hellbender, the Cherohala Skyway, The Foothills parkway, old NC28 is a good ride also. Lot's of great roads down there to explore.

BTW it's a dry county so plan ahead for getting your evening refreshments.

Forgot about the dry county thing, unbelievable that such a concept exists today. It's only the NC side that's dry though, TN side is wet.

thanks all for the advice.

I managed to get a friend to loan me a 7" asus eeepc.. will fit in my friends luggage just fine :)

We ended up picking the microtel in robinsville. Nothing fancy.. but we dont need much either.
