Honda Canada discontinued Honda CB1000R?

If the CB 1000R did not sell, this CBF 1000 would fail even worse.

Why would you consider that...??? It's very popular in Europe as a true sports tourer and an excellent replacement for the over weight ST1300 and far more practical for touring than the VFR series.

Honda got smart bringing out the CB500x.
The CBF1000 is a sweet machine in the same practical range. Europe knows.....our loss.

Heh, very true. Looking at the photos, the Gladius always reminded me of a cut-rate Monster 696 with that half-trellis frame. I think the original SV was intended as such too, but the frames (1st gen welded and 2nd gen cast) and styling went their own way, which is why they still look great. Suzuki could simply have offered an R version of the 650 and made a bundle. I wonder how the sales numbers added up in the end. Were the silver pants a marketing blunder as we assume, or an improbable success?

Sales of the Gladius were brutal. Marketing - a tragedy. They should've never stopped making SV. Maybe upgrade the fairings a bit and it would do fine. Hugely popular bike.

As for the Honda, I like the single sided swing-arm but not a fan of those fugly headlight assemblies on most modern naked bikes.

gladius marketing was perfect....
