Who do you think is at fault here?

It looks like an event of some sort so my guess is that the person stopping is at fault for stopping... but then again, the rider behind had time to swerve past him... Hmmmm
 
The idiot who stopped in the middle of the lane. I absolutely despise morons who stop but don't pull over to the side.

You rear end somebody, you're at fault. period. No matter how erratic the drivers/riders in front of you are, you should be able to avoid hitting them. If you can't, then you're not following at a safe distance.

The stopper was a moron, the guy running into him was an even bigger moron.
 
This looks like some sort race event, not public traffic, hence the hay bails. Who in their right mind would just stop in the middle of a race course while other racers are whizzing by?
 
Imagine you stopped for some reason and someone hit you from behind. Who'd you blame?

Scenario 1: Imagine you doing a lane change and the car beside you hits you, who'd you blame?
Scenario 2: Imagine you doing a turn a red light and someone t-bones you, who'd you blame?

Kidding aside... If everyone thought that way, no one would be at fault.

If this is a road race since it looks like it is (Hence the spectators, hay bails covering yield signs, Full suits and meter markers) . And I stopped in the middle of the lane I would blame myself.
Do you see any MotoGP riders come to a complete stop on the finish line on the checkered flag to do get set-up for a burnout while everyone else is still racing?
 
I have no idea why that first guy slowed down and stopped (stupid, either way), but dude behind him seemed to have plenty of time to notice and go around him. It's not like it was a sudden stop.
 
The person who put that dumb, stupid, @#$#@! tail tidy on that bike.

Hence the no stupid wheelies/stoppies rule at Shannonville a few years back..
 
Not every bike is stopping for glory and applause during an event. Someone might be stopped for some kind of mechanical failure. It's always wise to get out of the way no matter what but, the rider behind was likely distracted themselves and not looking ahead. Both get a fail.

I think they"ll both blame themselves more then each other.
 
Riders a Idiot for stopping and flaming his Win knowing that there's other riders that still need to finish and speeds unknown......... Kinda feel bad for the guy that hit him
 
Granted it was stupid of the guy to stop in the middle of the lane, but
The guy slowed down over 6 seconds, on the right lane, on a straight part of the road/track.
So the guy on the back could have easily seen it, and use the left lane, to pass, if not stop.

Or they both could have been starting at tits on the side.
 
no brake lights on these bikes right? if the rider behind was going fast, motion camouflage most likely caused the 2nd riders to not see the 1st riders has stopped until it was too late. hence the tire squeak before collision.
 
Closed course,rider behind is responsible for the safe pass.Marshall wasn't doing his job maybe?

Looked like he was gonna do a burnout for the fans or something.
As he brakes, you can see him slightly veering left to the center of the road.

The guy who stopped should of checked behind him and stuck to the right til the other rider passed.
 
Wish they kept the recorder going.....would have loved to see the pow wow that would have come after this.


p.s. Ultimately, its the guy behind fault.
