Hitch Helper "Trailer" for Transporting Bikes...

That's kind of interesting, but the review says you can't use it by itself - it needs to be sandwiched between your vehicle and your trailer/RV, so it isn't a standalone mini trailer
 
At first I expected the rack that fits in the hitch (which puts all sorts of stress on the hitch that they aren't designed for). The wheels underneath are an interesting twist.

I initially thought it didn't have suspension, but it has a torsion axle, so that problem is solved (although it still may twist the hitch going through a dip).

From the review "You can't use the Hitch Helper on its own... you need to hitch a trailer to it." Why, to help load the suspension?

Overall, it seems like the start of a good idea, but having the rear axle of the tow vehicle separated by feet from the hitch helper wheels just can't be good.

That's the part I don't get - you have another fixed axle, that could be carrying the tongue wait of a heavy trailer, 4 or 5 feet behind the vehicle's axle - so do the hitch helper wheels just slide around a turn? I guess that's what bigevildoer is talking about, because the strain caused by that friction would be on the receiver. They must have something figured out.

having gone camping with this same kit(not same manufacture), the reason you still need a trailer attached, is they move like crazy unloaded. the thing will destroy your hitch and rear end if you drive more than 20kph.
