Well if thats the case, posting it on youtube wouldn't be the smartest idea. lol
Have you seen the videos that's posted on youtube? Everyone seems to be a dumbass now a days. Either someone's popping a wheelie on public roads (which by the way I enjoy watching) or someone trying to break the sound barrier.....

The guy in the video was wearing shorts lol! I wonder if he lost a few layers of skin...what an idiot, showing off will get you hurt really bad or killed & the bike is toast...respect the road!

wow...I just watched the video...he tossed that thing like it was an old pop can...makes one wonder if it was really his bike.

Fyi, if you're thinking about calling CAA to tow the wreck, know that they're also obligated to call the police if they think the damage is over $1000. I don't know about independent tow trucks but I'd wager most towing companies have similar policies.

Also, comprehensive coverage covers collision if you hit an animal. At least with SF.

I have called CAA after I lowsided and the driver didn't care, I told him someone swung into my lane and forced me to lowside it and he said that sucks and loaded it up. (There was about $2,500 damage)

Just for information's sake, it's a crime to fail to report an accident that results in more than $1000.00 damage and/or injury, under the HTA. Section 199.

$1000 damage is in the eye of the beholder. A cracked fairing could be $1000 damage at the dealership but only $50 at home.

Not to mention, this legislation was written quite some time ago, when $1000 could probably buy the better part of a new bike. Also, what's "damage"? If I bust my plastic, dent my tank, sever a brake line, and bend my handlebars, what exactly am I obligated to fix? In my eyes, the plastics and tank don't need to be fixed.

It is possible, if police arrive on scene, for you to be charged with careless driving in such a situation. It's not terribly likely, though. And if that doesn't happen, the only way insurance can be affected is if you file a collision claim. This assumes you even HAVE collision coverage.
It is "Very Likely" actually that he will be charged with careless

Yes. You are supposed to report anything with damage over $1000.
You have something like 48 or 72 hours to go to the collision reporting centre to make your report.

Quite a few insurance companies have agreements with police departments.
You may not inform your company, but you may just get an unexpected call from them stating how your rate is going up due to accident etc.

For something like this, damn straight I'd try to get my bike home without a report being made or claim being filed.

For the record...if you do decide to do this and try to scam the insurance company... DONT VIDEO YOUR VIN LIKE THIS TARD (45 second mark) LOL!

I would hide the bike like in the video, report it stolen, then return at night and light that ***** on fire then count my insurance Benjamins later.

why not pick it up and track the ****er instead of torching it??

I've had so many downs that if I have more I'll need another hand to count em, but never called the cops. It was always still riding so I picked it up and got the **** outta there...

Just watched this and got me thinking:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slS42VoodbE

What if I wreck like this guy and no ones around. Is it better to just hide the bike and come pick it up later with a truck to avoid a police report/insurance hassles? Or would it be better to be legal and wait for a cop, file a claim etc.

Let's get it straight: when I'm talking "better" I mean strictly financially. This is JUST A STRICTLY HYPOTHETICAL DISCUSSION.

Cheers
Scarborought ride?

Which could get you charged and then having to demonstrate that it was only $50.00 worth of damage.

I'd show them my receipt of plastic putty and paint. Then show them my pictures.

Don't get me wrong, if it has bent frame and rims I'm not going to try to fix that.

So the lawman is holding the upper hand here? ouch. Lawman should prove.....it's all backwards:p

Nothing backwards about it when a fairing upper, alone, can easily run $800.00 for the part. One glance and you can get a pretty good estimate, if you've got a single clue and if you've crashed and not reported it, then you'll get the opportunity to show that the officer was wrong. In other words, case not proven.

So if the damage is light - fairing etc: Ride that ***** outta there ASAP

But if the damage is bad - bent fork/rims etc..: Tow that ***** outta there ASAP and claim it on the insurance when you get home - so no cops are involved

Should I just follow this rule?
