My bike model is in siggey.
It currently has a set of Pilot Road 2's installed.
The front one is about a month old, the rear has been on since April of this year.
A couple months back I got a nail in my tire and I was able to plug it. Everything has been fine until this morning.
I woke up to a flat tire this morning leaving the gf's to go to work.
I was able to find the source of the leak and I will be honest, it is not in a good spot.
**This is a new hole/puncture, has nothing to do with the original tire repair.
The issue is a combination of a puncture AND a gouge to the rubber. It is IN the tread and almost all the way to the left of the tire's curvature. A single plug did not seal the deal so I did it again with two plugs at once and then melted the tip to create as much of a seal as possible.
It held fine for a 20km ride home and another 2km to work but I have my experience in tire repairs and I don't like it the way it is. I no longer have any trust in the tire and I don't feel comfortable riding the bike.
My bike is my only vehicle at the moment.
Here's where I need your suggestions/opinions:
I found some great (as least I think so) sale prices for Pilot Road 2's, Pilot Road 3's and Dunloq Q2's.
The SV is a sport touring and the Pilot Road series are a great match to this type of bike.
The Q2 from my understanding is a full sport tire and much softer as a whole so it will wear out faster, but will be much stickier than the PR series. A couple of my friends on ZX6R's got them and they say they are really great tires, but it suits their bikes.
Since my front tire is still new, I figure these are my options:
1- Buy another PR2 rear to match the front and be happy. -> 143$
2- Buy a pair of PR3's and sell the PR2 used. -> 296$
3- Buy a pair of Q2's and sell the PR2 used. -> 228$
Thanks a lot ahead of time for your suggestions/opinions and your help.
