brake oil is frozen, I don't get it

not knowing your location it's hard to tell you where to go......to get an inspection, could be Canadian Tire, could be Rosey Toes, could be a hundred other places

an oil change you can do yourself, but that has nothing to do with getting a safety inspection

not sure what other other stuff you want or need done, you are unfortunately very vague....

.

There's really nothing I can tell you based on what you wrote. Nothing on your bike would freeze solid in the winter, it's really not much different from a car.

As far as getting a safety. Where do you live? There are many good shops that can help you.

first and foremost, congrats on the bike. Personally, any used bike I buy gets a complete check. so all fluids are flushed and parts inspected. You never know how long a bike has been going without fresh coolant/oil/brake fluid. Inspect the drive chain? clean/dirty? loose? what about the tires? are they worn? cupped? rock hard? the list goes on as there are a million things to look for when buying a used bike and getting it ready for the season.

Are you handy and have a good set of tool? buy a service manual specific to your bike (oem or aftermarket like haynes) and have at it. If you prefer a pro, find your local motorcycle shop and book an appointment. Tell them you just bought the bike and need an inspection. oh and have the bike picked up, don't ride it there. Good luck and have a great summer.

when i got the bike previous owner had it parked in heated garage and everything was in good condition and the tires are still good as well its just its been soo cold recently thats why it looks like everything is frozen

i had a cbr 250 last year parked it indoor in heated area so never had this problem and i bought that from brampton powersports

So there was frost on your brake fluid reservoir? As with any used vehicle purchase it's a good idea to get it looked over by a mechanic if you're not able to give it a good look over yourself.

I'll ask again. Where do you live? There are many good shops that could help you. We can't help you if you don't give us enough information.

True story, I once had water in my reservoir & it froze :(

Hopefully the previous owner of the OP's bike didn't have straight water in the cooling system (might have if he tracked it.) He might've thought it okay if he stored it in a heated garage...

LOL water will tend to do that when it hits 0, below, oil, I've never seen or heard of it. Pretty sure your average normal oil has a freezing point of like -30. Average brake fluid -40 I believe. Wind chill to my knowledge is not a factor. I don't think it got quite that bad during our recent deep freeze.
SO OP should be OK. Straight water in the coolant system is bad though. When it freezes and expands it could crack things. Pretty sure the OP would know that by now if it was the case. If the bike starts, he should be all right, just fresh oil, brake fluid, plugs and a safety and he should be good to go.
PM me if you need a shop in the Brampton area I use to have a shop that I'd take my R1 to. Cool Jamaican guys running and working it. Can't recall the name of it off the top of my head but I can look into it if your jammed up and looking for help. Guy even actually came out to a spot to meet me one time near Downsview to give me a hand. Cool Guys.

Congrats on the R6! Are you insecure about riding it because it's a big jump from the CBR250 or because of its condition relative to the weather we've had?

go to Brampton Powersports. They are close to you if you live in Brampton and can do the oil change and the safety for you all at the same time. They are near Hwy 10 and Sandalwood area
