Help - Bike won't start

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but a quick ride doesn't equal a good charge for a battery.

I went for about 10 minutes. Should I have gone for 30-40? I didn't want to get caught in the rain.

If your bike was like the r6 in the video- would have had enough to start up. Anyhow, trickle charge it, if I leave my bike for more than a week without starting the battery tends to drain itself.

I need a battery tender for this? Do I need to take the battery out while I do this?

Tender will mimic the bike charging system (you have to be above x rpm for it to charge). So it charges, relaxes, charges, relaxes...(kinda like how women shop).

That being said, if your battery is toast and not holding a charge (old or damaged), doesn't matter, it may not start when you're out and parked somewhere for a bit. Change it...

Right. We'll see if I need to boost it again the next time I go for a ride. If I do, it will be a new battery!

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Mechanic friend of mine came over, looked over the bike, said we should try boosting it. I pulled my car up next to the bike, connected the cables. She had a little bit of trouble starting, but eventually she did! Went for a quick ride to get a good charge. Happy we were able to figure it out. Battery is probably a little bit lame and will need to be replaced soon.

Thanks for all the support!

Make sure you get a multimeter from Canadian tire and check your charging system. If its not charging at 14 volts or so, then its your charging system and not your battery.
