What do you have?

I am in the market for one. I need following features:

- Crisp sound, specially for music (Bass is preferred)
- Voice control
- Intercom with passenger/multiple riders
- Etc etc....what else is there?

TIA

If anyone finds a Very economical solution to this I'm interested to know too.

what I used to to do while bicycling with friends was use my original cell phone headset (iPhone in my case) and we would establish a phone connection to each other and speak like that. It worked fine.

recently i rode with a friend on my motorbike and we tried the same idea. With the iphone headset covered under the shielding of a full face helmet, we were able to do the same thing. A couple times, we had to raise our voices, but generally, we had a conversation the whole ride! Speeds up to 70, no problems Hearing. This was done be phoning each other and shoving the phones in our pockets. Theoretically, if you are doing a group ride, you should be able to conference in any additional riders and essentially have a "party line"-style conversation going.

another idea I wanna try next is an app called BLUETOOTH CALL for iPhone. It is a free app which establishes a connection via Bluetooth between two phones. I have tested it out at my home and it works but I have not tested it out on a bike yet. My idea is that this app may be suitable if you are 2uping as the Bluetooth range will not be an issue.

of course the more costly dedicated solutions are much better I'm sure, but for occasional use, I'll be doing this again!

Lots of threads on the forum regarding this. Do some reading.

re: bluetooth connectivity for communications. Does not have the long range you require on motorcycle rides.

Many great products out there, covering the low, mid, and high range.

Personally I am on the scala. Have 2 sets, one for my girlfriend. Works great. Also going on a week long trip in June. I am doing my best to make sure my mates are on comm units as well to make the trip more easier and enjoyable.

I've been using a Sena 20s, I would say it's phenomenal! Even with earplugs the music, intercom and phone calls come in crisp. Sena also supports audio multitasking (talking and listening to music at the same time.) All in all its a great system and I would definitely recommend it!

They have a wide range of models and--while I haven't tried other brands--on paper they look the best to me and I have been totally satisfied with my choice for the last few years.

Thank you. Sena does look very promising. Do they have boomless microphone? Uclear does but I dont know too much about that brand.

I just got myself a 20S from Sena. Its amazing. I can't believe I went even 1 season without this. The 20S came with like 4 other types of mic's. I have a super discreet one the size of a nickel with all the wires hidden..

Its on sale at GPbikes I think for the dual kit.. if you can find someone to split it with or just have an extra for 2ups..

^What Jericho said. You can get a small wired mic that sticks onto the chin bar that is non-intrusive.
I bought mine from cyclebots.com for a good deal at the time using a promotion code ("advrider" I think).
