Helmet advice

My shoei is rip after my accident, so I need another one. Not crazy about spending another 500$.
Is there a decent prices store where I can get one? Or what is the next best thing to a shoei? I'm pretty new so not sure what is good.

I am a Shoei guy. Their customer service is excellent and you are living proof they work :-)
Any DOT helmet will likely save you too but think about comfort too.
Another big plus for Shoei and Arai is popularity = parts availability. I forgot my clear visor once when going for a long trip. Was able to buy one deep in US boonies - Shoei and Arai is all they carried.
Watch for sale, get one from US or buy entry level model.

Scorpions and Agv get decent reviews too.

And btw - if u went through insurance for your accident all your gear usually covered too.

I'm thinking if you've already been in an accident, you ought to be sticking with the good helmets.. :-)

I know. Ive only a done 1150km and I got into one :(

Bah..everyone has an accident early on. It's worse if you don't have a few years of car driving under your belt. Just be careful and learn to anticipate all the crappy drivers and poor conditions. Live and learn..we all go through it. Besides, it was way too nice today to be driving a car! :-)

It's all about shape/size of your head. I tried six or seven different manufacturers' helmets after Shoei RF-1000 saved my melon. Well, I ended up with Shoei RF-1100, because it fit my head the best.

+1 Highly recommend Shoei, you spend the extra cash but it protects your melon. Still using my RF-1000

If you wear a small in a shoei I have a brand new RF-1000 for sale, asking only $299. it never fit the shape of my wide head quite right so I never used it. It has just been sitting in the closet for a long time, comes with the helmet sock and original stickers and manual. PM me, glad you are alright after the accident
