I'm looking into hard saddle bags for my V Star and I found this website called ridebikegear.com
I'm looking to buy these http://www.ridebikegear.com/ga-series-hard-saddlebags-p-198.html
I've also been in contact with Kyle / Carl from their customer service via email and phone. They have a warehouse in Guelph and I'm planning to drive down there tomorrow to see the saddlebags in person before I buy them. It's not far for me because I live in Brampton but I wonder if it's worth the trip.
A few things that seem off..
1. The address he gave me was in the middle of nowhere (but that could be a google maps update issue)

2. A lot of online heat towards this company; some very recently in 2012

But, I have these positive reviews as well...

3. The guy (Kyle/Carl) kept dodging my questions to come see it in person over email. I genuinely want to make sure my laptop bag fits in the saddlebags before I buy them. Maybe he wasn't too happy about losing out on shipping.
4. Cash only - This could be a result of not having the means to accept card / paypal on site. I'll be asking for a receipt for sure if I end up getting the bags.
I know the bags are cheap and I know "you get what you pay for" but I'm trying to save a little as well. If this company is real and the bags turn out good, then realistically a decent pair of hard saddlebags for 150 is a good deal... no??
I look forward to your thoughts and experiences with this company.
Thanks y'all!
