Handlebar mounts and accessories on sport bikes? When bar space is limited...

I bought a Lifeproof case for my iPhone the other day along with the matching bike handlebar mount. I love this thing! Weatherproof yet slim enough to remain pocketable. Anyway, this isn't a review (maybe I'll write one later) but rather a question in general about bar mounted accessories on sport bikes:

What do you do with your bar-goodies when you have no space on your clip-ons to mount them?

I managed to clip the Lifeproof mount to my left bar after moving the light switch cluster over a cm or so. While it works, the problem is that the mount hits my nose and tank fairings when I turn the bar. So, my first thought was to use some kind of stem mount with a mini-handlebar attached to it that would add much needed real estate for sport bikes. Does such a contraption exist? So far I haven't been able to locate one.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. In my case I want to continue using the Lifeproof bike mount which has a handlebar clamp and a ball joint similar to RAM. Unfortunately, the ball size is not compatible with RAM mounts so I've been looking for some kind of adapter that will slide into the stem and provide a handlebar-like interface for the Lifeproof to grab onto.

Mikbusa, the ball coupler in your link looks interesting... if I can adjust the size to fit the Lifeproof's ball I might give it a go.

This is the reason I haven't yet bought one of these cases. Without the flexibility of the Ram mounting system, I wouldn't have anywhere to put it on my bike. I use a steering stem mount as mikbusa posted with an iPhone 4 cradle.

I usually fab up a steering stem mount for a RAM ball, then pretty much anything flies!

I found this mount on ebay that can interface with a RAM and accept the Lifeproof case: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SlipGrip-RAM...ccessories&hash=item5d32cf90c4#ht_2488wt_1163

Looks like a workable alternative but it would be a shame to return the Lifeproof mount as it's pretty similar in price but much nicer in terms of both form and function. I wish they had gone with a standard sized ball.

what size is the ball on it? Ram makes ball mounts other than their standard 1" iirc
