Just wanted to put this out there so that people have the chance to consider upping/re-vamping their security measures regarding their bike. Mine was stolen from my driveway (right beside my car) two weeks ago. In the adjusters words, bike theft in Hamilton is "rampant" right now. Makes a security review seem like a prudent thing if you're in the area...just sayin'.

I hear Pegassus has a good security system.

3 or 4 yrs ago they took mine from my backyard, overnight. (Barton & Kenilworth area)
My neighbour had his boosted before that.
Lucky for him, his buddy noticed it 2 yrs later, parked in a driveway 4 blocks away. They called the cops. Cops came. Buddy had his ins & ownership stuffed under the seat padding where no one would find it.
In front of the cops, he took the seat off, and low & behold, there was his ownership & Ins slip. Cops said: "take your bike". No charges were laid on the db that stole it two yrs prior - go figure.
On another note - I just moved a couple weeks ago. Not being used to having a 'real' garage, I left the garage door open for about 5 hrs a couple days ago, with the Busa being the 1st thing that anyone would notice.
I nearly smp when I got home, but nothing was touched.

good to know, did they qualify "rampant" Though I am not in Hamilton, but one of the outlying small towns, I do frequent the area. Are certain areas targeted over others? North End, East, West, Mountain?

My wife works in the North end near the General, and hasn't taken her bike into work all summer as thefts have been prominent there. guy in her department rode in 1st time this summer, and his bike was gone that day. I guess the former residents of 165 Barton St E sometimes need a way home

Such a QUIET Neighbourhood too:p

I'm a few blocks away from Gage Park. There were no specific areas mentioned though, he just said Hamilton.

Thanks. It sucks for sure ? I also know I would have taken some extra precaution if I'd known it was a big issue - so I figure maybe someone else will benefit from knowing.
