You might want to consider selling your bike if you think the Forks are far.

I think what he means by far is that he wants to have a closer daily route.

Why would you have to go farther than you need to right?

Also, cruising isn't everybody's thing.

Forks is neither far, nor a good riding road.

Well said. I go 3+ hours on a 400 series highway out of the GTA just to find roads that are decent enough. If you want to find a good highway either hit up the Cabot or the 138 in Quebec north east of Quebec City.

And don't complain about uncomfortable bikes, I ride an SS.

I've got a roundabout about 45 km into my 60 km commute, plus a right turn, a left turn, and then another right turn. That's London and surrounding area for you. I can let you know my route if you want to appreciate the GTA a little more.

Good for you. I dont have and wont waste 3 hours of my time just to find a good road and then get completely exhausted afterwards. Im spending 30mins each day commuting already, is a waste of time, toronto has the worst commute times of the world. I would rather find somewhere closer to have some fun then to waste all of life travelling.

I don't get it. Everybody is saying that Forks is a bad road, everybody agrees?????
Forks is a great road. Take it fast enough and it's a load of fun.
At the end, turn around and do it again. There, you just had fun twice.

We live in Southern Ontario, we have to ride what we have. Why scratch off Forks?

How about Snake. That road sucks too?

op i don't quite think you understand.
There are no "good roads" anywhere in Southern Ontario.

There are some okay roads around and the Forks is 5 minutes and Snake 3 minutes of "okay" interest.
Mindless is doing the same stretch over and over with iffy traffic.

144 is 60 miles of the Forks and Snake and stuff better than both 3 hours from here - THAT is a "good" road.....and if riding there is boring to you I'd look for something different to do.

There are excellent and interesting routes to get there

but you have to be interested in riding. Riders need saddletime to improve.
Riding in Toronto simply makes you a survivor.

Likely one of the nicer roads is River Road North of the Forks. You can put together an enjoyable day with some small twists like Forks and Snake and Ridge and some scenery but you need to be willing to make the time.
'pears you are not willing to do that.

Completely exhausted???!!!....many riders here string continuous 700-1,000 km days including "good roads" together and come back refreshed to the tiring crap that is the GTA.
We're not exhausted we're invigorated.

I've ridden the area for 45+ years and still find interesting roads and times of year and times of day to ride in - be it January for a lovely ride last year or 2 am in the Campbellville and Twiss Road area.
The conditions make the challenge and interest but they are not particularly "good roads" tho Appleby can be fun at some pace.

Still they don't compare to the likes of 137 in Quebec.

^this! Bwahahaha! Seriously though? Good riding roads in Toronto? Bwahahaha! Sorry, lm done.

There is that one really awesome road.

It's beside the big condo with the parking garage where bikes aren't stolen.

Just down the street. You won't even be exhausted.

Forks is overcrowded, regularly patrolled, and runs right through a bunch of houses and businesses. Houses owned by people who hate motorcycles. It's the first "twisty" road that anyone with a motorcycle ever hears about so everyone shows up trying to prove they are hot ****. It's a circus.

Not to mention right now both bridges are 1 lane with an automated light so it take forever to get through.

I avoid it like the plague. At best I'll stop at the coffee shop and continue up Mississauga Rd to more hassle free riding.
