Good local re-upholsterers?

My seat has been developing a crack for a few years now. Well, it's finally reached the point where it'll be splitting soon.

Does anyone know a GOOD local shop for reupholstering or even maybe just a repair job? (Though I expect a good repair would cost almost as much as totally re-doing the seat).

I can remove the seat and drop it off to be done over winter, but I've never had any seat re-done locally, so I don't know if this is something that people mess up a lot and should be done by someone familiar with this specific seat (an older BMW) or if any old motorbike reupholsterer should be able to handle the job. That might sound a bit much, but it's fairly important to me to get the same shape seat back as I send/give away, because I'm one of those goons that always has a pain in the *** finding stuff that fits and this seat fits pretty well. I don't want to get back something that's all different-shapped, or been re-done with crap materials/work.

For reference, an entirely new seat would probably run about $200 (used but impossible to find) $700 (new and also quite difficult to find) if I can find one, so I don't know how competitive that would be.

Possibly I could get just the damaged panel replaced and not the whole seat cover?

I've had good luck with Laura @ The Upholstery Shop in Cambridge. I don't know if that's local to you tho?

Noooope. I'm in East York.

Anyplace in Toronto should be fine.

New Image near Laurence & Midland. They can do the whole seat or just the torn part.
I have used them many times to repair leather seats in cars and they always do a great job for a very decent price.

Ask for Serge.
