Getting a license plate/insurance?

Hey everyone,
I have my m1 and just got a bike, going to be doing my m2 course shortly. I have the bike register to my name but was deemed “unfit”as I don’t have the safety done. My question is when I go to service Ontario I know they want the safety,ownership and insurance. So for the insurance can I just give them my policy number and insurance name that I use for my car? Because the season is pretty much over and won’t be getting motorcycle insurance until the spring.

The good news is that your motorcycle insurance fee is weighted heavily for the summer months. So if you start insuring now, you're not actually paying that much to have the bike insured over the fall and winter. Of course that would mean you have to start paying now vs spring
