Gel Seat

Send your seat to this guy, he is in New Jersey but he does great work, and made my stock cardboard seat 100% more comfortable ... Also does custom work. Takes about a week or 2 but worth it.
Cheers Geoff

Might not do what you want - you might try a Bead rider first
+1.Air circulation is far more important than squishyness to ward off "monkey butt". :D

Any ideas where to have an gel pack put in my bike seat locally?

I bought a gel seat for my Vstrom to improve comfort when touring. After a day of it sitting in the sun at work it's too hot to get on the bike to ride home. It lasted less than a week before I went back to the original seat.

The beadriders work well (not good for commuting, but for touring it's great!) and I've heard good stuff about the Airhawk pads.

Airhawk is okay but you need to be careful adjusting it - I'm hoping Beadrider does a better job.

I mangled my AirHawk when I stood up for some relief and it blew into the chain a bit ( only had one strap on - lost the other -
Think it might be patchable.
Generally it's better than a stock seat but nowhere near a custom seat like the Russell Daylong which was the best $650 I've spent.

Not mine but close

The backrest is incredible and the seat about as close to a tractor style seat support as you can get.

I looked at those, but the price is really high, and you need to supply them with a seat pan (I have the old gel seat....). My bike also lives outdoors, which can be a huge problem for leather seats. I use my normal seat all the time, and add the Beadrider when touring. I tried a Alaska Leather Sheepskin, but it only added a few minutes to seat time before monkeybutt comes along...

Yeah - not sure I would have coughed up full price but glad I got a deal.
They do come with a full rainproof/sunproof cover - I sometimes ride with the cover on.
