FZ 07, FZ 09, or FZ 10?

Used you can find for about 7k plus tax with really low km, I bought mine for $6700 with 5k, 7300 out the door from Snow City instead of the 9k+ brand new. It's an option to consider

Anytime the dealer is cheaper than a private sale, is always the better option! Good to know there are deals like this.

Sold my GSXR1000 last week as I'm ready to try something different on the street that is more fun at sane speeds as I've been on SS litre bikes for a decade now. Picked up the Magnum for cruising and so far it's been amazing but I still need something more nimble/hooligan but still somewhat comfy (more so than a SS anyways). Really taking a long look at the FZ9 although I've always wanted a Tuono. It would see the same types/ratio of riding that ZX600 has his for.

Have you guys looked into the new GSX-S1000A and GSX-S1000FA??

Yes. There' s a non-faired S at Asselstine's when I visited last Friday. Unfortunately my budget for a third bike has relegated me to the used pile. Great looking bike but I'd also like something not an inline-4.

Test riding it next week.

Test riding the FZ10 as well, but this might prove fruitless so I might just change it to the FZ9.

I'm sure it's been answered before but why aren't you looking at the speed triple? Unless you've had issues with your triumph and just want to change.

If budget is a concern, the triple is a lot more expensive.... and ugly lol

Well, a couple reasons:

Previous bike was Triumph - want something different
Expensive - at the price range, i'd go with the S1000r or the FZ10
Lower in terms of looks compared to the other nakeds(though the single sided swingarm is pretty nice lol)

So unless Triumph comes out with a 900 cc naked in the same price range as the FZ9, i'll be looking mainly at the Yamaha.

The FZ10 would be nice, but that is a big cost increase for sure! I would think that the FZ9 would be the best choice for you if you want a bump in power over your last bike. Otherwise get the FZ7 if you're happy with the same power.

I felt the same about the Speed Triple. Have a buddy who got one last year around the same time. Both bikes are a blast to ride, just I felt mine looked much better and was easier on the wallet.

I may get an FZ07 as a first bike... Though weighing in at 260 may be rough on that poor suspension. The 07 is def the max I'm willing to take a first bike but the suspension looks so much better on the 09 and 10

Drennan57 Don't bother trying to make sense of MacDoc and zx600. You'll just drive yourself nuts.

I had a 2006 FZ6 the one with a 1/2 fairing not the totally naked bike. Although I thought it was an ugly bike (and still do) it did everything well. And was reliable to a fault.

Awesome gas mileage - I was getting 60mpg and could go over 300kms before reserve (or more accurately a flashing bar on the gas gauge).

I did lots of camping on it. Just strapped the hockey bag on the back and was off. Rode it to James Bay.

It was quick enough - I saw 237kph on the speedo - who knows how accurate that was...

3 things I didn't like.
I found the seat hard and after an hour rather uncomfortable.
I absolutely hated the LCD dash. Dark grey on a light grey screen was almost impossible to see when any light was reflected on the screen.
The other thing was the amount of wind noise it produced but I solved that after someone suggested trimming the windshield down. I cut off about 3" and instead of dumping all that wind and noise in my face it ended up in my chest and was a much quieter ride.

Oh no worries, I don't take anything to serious around here. If I did I probably would have jumped off a bridge long ago. All I know is that I'm very happy with my Fizzer. It looks great "to me" and has all the performance one would ever need on the road. People who don't know motorcycles (99%) of the population think it's a supersport bike and all without the slightest hint of back pain or the gaping hole in my pocket ;)

I love my FZ, it has legendary bloodlines and will last forever. Couldn't be happier with it no matter what the Moto GP stars on here think.

Well thank you.

So just your wallet doesn't have the gaping hole? Could of sworn I heard a rumor that you had one of those... LOL!:lmao:

I tested out the 2016 FZ9 and FZ10 on the weekend and MUCH preferred the FZ9.
The FZ10's seat was like a slab of concrete and the throttle was stupid loose and very twitchy, even in "B" mode. You could probably adjust out the loose throttle, but that's how they had it.
I did not get to wind it up and take it past 100 so I don't know how it is other than on the street.

The FZ9 was a wheelie machine and I had a blast with it. "B" mode was nice to have on bumpy streets and was great for just cruising. "A" mode was awesome and I wish I could've taken it out on the highway to really see the power.
The one thing I didn't like about it was the engine sticking out the side. My boots stick out quite a bit in the shins and it was a pain in the *** to get to the rear brake. Getting to the shifter wasn't an issue.
I'd say maybe swap out the seats and springs depending how you ride and you've got yourself a nice bike. If I was going to get a new bike, that would be it.

I thought bikes used oil. You must have a spacial idition model.
How will you verify the forever part?

Have you looked at a SV1000 (faired).
There is a posting in London on Kijiji with hardbags, silver bike, 40k asking $3100.

I think that is a nice blend of what you might be after.

I got rid of my Daytona last season and i've narrowed down my options to a standard/naked bike. Specifically, the ones listed on the title.

What do you guys recommend? This will be street only (I might take it to the track like once or twice).

Reading on multiple forums, many folk seem to dig the FZ 09 alot! I'm leaning towards that but perhaps some can convince me to lean towards the other two...or maybe another manufacturer! Opinions?
Street triple would be my pick
But from your FL choices I would start making a pros/cons list on a spreadsheet. Maybe easier to compare.
