front stand?

I have a track day coming up on the 22nd, I am most likley going to be buying a set of warmers for it. My question is about front stands, I currently have the under the triple style and the pin style that goes into the bottom of the fork leg. My problem is my new bike, the under the triple stand does not fit properly without removing the front fender, and the pin style does not work with my new forks properly as the left fork bottom has a very large but shallow hole so the pin does not lock in good enough.

So I am thinking of either buying a better brand under the triple stand, but it has to fit without removing my front fender or hitting any of the fairings. Or one of these fork bottom lifting front stands...

Any suggestions? Bike is a 2013 ZX6R Anyone have a under the triple stand that doesnt hit the fender or fairings when installing?

Tire changes are a ***** with the one shown.

I have the gorilla stand under the triple. However if it's just for the odd day and you can do tire changes on an off day in the shop then yer gold.

I have that pitbull. It's good if you don't have to change out the front

What makes it hard to change tires with the one shown?

I dont plan to change tires, just need something to lift the front wheel to get warmers on.......I have a few different front stands and none of them work properly on my new bike...They can work but you have to fiddle with them for too long, I just want to roll off the track rear stand front stand warmers on and helmet off asap

Get the pit bull and be done with it. I had one of those cheap orange stands (for triple tree) and it was absolute crap , the bodywork would rest on top of the stand , bought a pit bull and all was well , and from what I have read , they will last you a lifetime. I have the one like you posted with the adapter for the triple tree ,they are built very well and worth the money.

P.S. if anyone wants an orange front stand (i think I have a few different pins for it) , come pick it up ....free!

Yeah pitbull is good stuff I have a rear stand with lifter on my bike and I love how sturdy that setup is with a pitbull stand

I just wasnt sure if the pitbull under the triple stand hits the body or the fender..

Another problem with my bike is the 2013 has a new stem, and requires a different size pin...I had to make one to fit my current stand, Pitbull has it too but Riders choice doesnt stock it so I would have to order it.

No problems with clearance on my 2011. Strange thing though , on the pitbull website they have the (03-13)ZX6 listed as a #2 pin and then the '13 listed as a #15 pin ??? You may have to check the kawi forums.

I dont know about what their site says, but I know the 03-12 stem is the same size at the bottom and the 2013 is larger. The 2013 has a steel stem vs the 03-12 being aluimnum so it is much thinner and larger ID. I had to make a pin for my stand when I got the 13 because no one had the size I needed in stock
Here you can see the one I made for the 13 is alot bigger

I found it a lot easier with the under-fork types. The wheel won't move left/right when changing. But the under-triple type is easier to put on and now I can remove my own forks.

Check out Dave @ Competition Cycle.... he has some good stands at fair prices. Some friends with Kawi's last year all had the same stands bought by him and never had any issues.

I was gonna ask the same thing?? Never had an issue with the pitbull under the fork stand and wheel/tire changes. Maybe it depends on the bike. Personally, I have the front pitbull that does both under the triple and and under the forks. The triple attachment is easily removed so when you are at the track just use the under the fork setup for getting the bike off the ground for tire warmer usage etc. Works for me.

Meme will speak for herself, but the issue I have is getting the axle out and in. The steel plate bind the axle on my gixxer. Means the axle comes out at a bit of an angle, which isn't so bad. But getting it back in at an angle requires a larger hammer than usual. Which isn't healthy for the parts concerned.

Although the Pit Bull looks better than the front stand I have.

Turning the tire to get the calipers off and exactly as ^ stated

Even the real wheel changes seem easier to line everything up when I use the gorilla.

I have a 5x8 trailer packed. I don't have room to bring both so I use what works for tire changes.
