I still have a bit of tread left on my tires, so thinking about heading somewhere for a fall colours ride on Friday (tomorrow). It looks to be beautiful out with 25deg and sun.

Small group of experienced riders only, since this will have a fair amount of twisty and hilly roads.
Should be around 800km round trip from Mississauga. If you have ridden with me before - same sort of thing.

Pace: Responsible in the straights, respectful in the smaller towns and a fun in the corners.
Fuel: Gas stops roughly every 200km.
Food: Packing snacks & will have a nice sit down lunch - not sure where yet and open to suggestions.
Time: Leaving Mississauga around 7am.
Meetups: Open to meet up anywhere between Mississauga and Innisfil or Port Perry, depending on which direction we go
Route: I'll do one up shortly, but thinking about Parry Sound or Maynooth right now

Post up or PM if you are interested.
:)

I'd be up for it - if no rough/gravel roads on this route :)
and not too far to be back well before dark..

I think I covered most of the four zones last Sunday-Monday. I will share some thoughts and photos in a bit.

@shanekingsley I remember there was some kind of observation deck on the hill East of Maynooth if I recall correct, there was a nice view over the wide forested area.. haven't been there in decades, any interest to go there?

Sounds good to me @Sochi

Maynooth it is and I’ll whip up a route of smooth pavement for you and we’ll hit up that nice lookout too.

And I want to be back home by 6:30pm latest. If you are good to meet up around 7am, we’ll meet up close to you like before.

Have a great and safe ride.

The colors in my videos turned out pretty lame, so I’m not going to post the photos.

Last Sunday and Monday, I found the best fall colors in the area from Perth to Kingston, and then from Calabogie to Combermere. Algonquin had some trees changing colors, but overall, it was still mostly green. As for Huntsville to Bala and Gravenhurst, most of the trees were still green, too.

Hopefully, wherever you go, you can catch some vibrant and beautiful fall colors!

It was an awesome day riding with @Sochi !

I rode around 850km for the day and most of the roads were in really good shape. Highlights for me include Lower Faraday Rd, 515/Letterkenny Rd and Old Barry's Bay Rd, because they all had that perfect mix of vibrant fall colours, amazing pavement quality and sheer twisty madness.

I totally underestimated the cold temps in the morning and should have dressed a bit warmer, but at least I wore the heated jacket. The combination of the fog, low temps and cold winds made me feel like I was riding in barely above zero temps for the first few hours.

There's always some dirty roads on my rides:

By the time we hit Bancroft, the temps really warmed up. Somewhere on Letterkenny Rd:

Stopped for a nice break at the lookout point where we ran into a group of riders from Parry Sound. A few of them had Yamaha's, so we all got along.

We ate at the Sun Run Cafe and Bakery in Maynooth - thanks @Amazon for the suggestion:) They also have really good baked goods and I bought a bunch to bring home for the missus. I'm practicing my @Lightcycle parking styles:

And speaking of @Lightcycle - this pic's for you:)
