Fork bushing problem

This is how my current bushing looks:

I believe the rubber coating on the edge is fading and it cause my fork seal wear prematurely.

The problem is, this is bushings from a grey import bike (93 TZR250). If I order one oem it will come from Japan. Is there anyway I can get the old one "re-surface"?

give someone like canadian bearings a call, they can source stuff like that quite easily

I hate the style of forks where one bushing stays on the chrome tube, and the other in the bottom of the fork tube...When you pull them apart the bottom bushing gets jammed into the top and rubs the coating off both of them just like you have there...It pisses me off because you need new bushings almost every time you pull them apart...Even if you pull gently 9 times out of 10 it still damages the coating on at least one of them...

The other design where the top bushing is also in the fork tube never has this problem...

As far as resurfacing Ive never heard of that being done locally...
