You should have bought a Honda
Hey guys,
I am kind of stuck in a situation here. I was riding my bike and then the bike died on me. So I brought the bike to a shop. The shop told me that my 07 GSXR 600 needs a stator. Now here is the problem the stator is out of stock from their aftermarket supplier. and the OEM stator is $350 plus taxes.
Does anyone know how I can get my hands on a after market stator so my bike can be back on the road again without paying over 500 in parts and labour?
Please and Thank you

Sorry to hear your bad luck.
Stators can be rewound (rebuilt)!
It is commonly done. As a side note, it is somewhat common to have a stator rewound so thar it produces more amps output for bikes that might need more electric power to run added accessories.
This can be done for any bike as I understand it as told to me by a local owner of a small shop (not in your area unfortunately).
Bike/automotive/industrial alternator/electric motor shops can do this easily.
You would have to ask to find out price and the time required. The bike shop that has your bike should be able to help you with this.
Good luck.
Tim?Cheaper to do it my suggested way.
Really? Can you recommend a shop that will rewind a stator to generate more power? This would go along way in helping power heated gear.

Sometimes there is value on asking someone for a personal recommendation on a place for a repair, you must be under 25, everything in life is google and textingCome on man, show some initiative. Open google, type in "rewound stator <your city or town>". Change rewound to rewind if no decent results show up.
