fighting a ticket - does insurance know?

I am currently scheduled to fight a ticket.

Basically I don't want to raise any questions with insurance, but I'd like to find out how much insurance costs for a bike I'd like to buy. Will they see anything related to me getting charged and fighting the ticket?
 
As far as I've been made aware, if you are going to court for the ticket it will not show up on record. If you lose and are convicted of the charge, then it will show up. So, if the insurance company asks if you have any convictions, assuming this is the only one, you can say no since it still has to be decided in the courts if you're guilty.

Insurance does not know until you're convicted which is when it shows up on your drivers abstract.

Even if they do know you're fighting a ticket, they can't raise your rates until you are convicted. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
 
I'm wondering if I should buy the bike pay for insurance now since I don't know what the outcome of my trial is going to be.

Well if this is your first ticket, it will make little to no difference in your premiums depending on your insurance company. If this is your 2nd or 3rd ticket in the last 3 years, you may have issues (Once again depending on the company).

I've only ever gotten one ticket and it's been over 3 years.

This one's more serious where it was an accident, but no insurance claims, just been charged.

Other then this I'm over 25 and have a clean record.
