One man has died following a crash involving a motorcycle on Steeles Avenue, a representative with Toronto Paramedic Services has confirmed.
It happened near Islington Avenue a short time ago.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately known. It was also not immediately clear if the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.
The man is believed to be in his 20s, paramedics said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several lanes on Steeles Avenue are currently closed, York Regional Police said in a tweet.

A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on Steeles Avenue Wednesday evening.It happened east of Islington Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m.
According to police, the motorcycle was travelling west when it collided with another vehicle.

“The motorcyclist lost control – he sustained significant injuries,” Toronto police Insp. Richard Hegedus told CP24 at the scene.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family has been notified, Hegedus said.
Steeles Avenue is currently closed from Pine Valley Drive to Islington Avenue as police continue to investigate.
