But when i use an american Proxy server it lets me log in, Any ideas?

This happen since last night when i tried to post something and it brought me to the screen with the message to email paul with the screen shot of what I was trying to post etc..

What country are you accessing it from otherwise? Canada?

yep, Canada

Hi!
Sounds like an IP block. As you recieved the error when you tried to post your IP may have been blocked by the server security. If you could tell me if it was a new post or a reply post that gave you the message to email paul and PM me your IP address I will look into it for you. I will need your IP not the IP going through thew proxy. If you are unsure how to get your IP go to whatismyip.com and it will display it for you.

Thanks,
Have a Great Day

Hi!

No worries. It was blocked by a security rule something in the post you were trying to post tripped a security rule and multiple attempts tripped the rule multiple times triggering a block IP. I have unblocked your IP but give me a bit before you try to post it again. I need to figure out what in the post was triggering the security rule and make some adjustments to mitigate the chances of this happening again.

Thanks,

Its working. thanks

Exact same thing has been happening with me since I moved over to Teksavvy. No problems accessing the site from work which goes through a proxy in IL. But at home, I either get the same error msg the OP was getting or only parts of the page will load. I thought it was a DNS issue but changing over to Google DNS hasn't fixed the issue.

vhs, I will PM you my IP. Would you mind checking for me as well?

Hi AF4iK!

Checked and your IP is not blocked and has not tripped any server security rules. If it should happen again please contact Paul, send him the content of the post you were attempting to post and we can try to recreate it and do some testing. Also it's helpful to know if you were starting a new thread, replying to a post or editing a post. Thanks!

We ask that you email me what you were trying to post so we can solve these issues.

If you simply ignore the message that comes up....we can't help you.

Hi Paul / vhs, In my case it seems to happen at random: querying new posts, clicking to next page of results, viewing & responding to PMs, posting replies, editing posts, etc. The one thing I haven't had a problem with yet is starting new threads but that's a less frequent operation.
The next time it happens I'll screencap the error but it's just a standard msg saying something like "Oops! Chrome couldn't connect to the site you're looking for. Check your connection and try again." (Note: I re-read the OP and I haven't seen the error msg saying to e-mail Paul, just the Chrome error.)

Usually what happens, I'm browsing GTAM as normal and then a page will fail to load or render completely. The first things to go are usually half of the post icons and the page navigation icons but sometimes all I get is the top banner. When I try to refresh I get the error msg. Sometimes I'll get the site back on the next refresh, other times it takes several minutes.

Things I've tried without success...
- Clearing cache & browsing history
- Using IE instead of Chrome
- Changing DNS server
- And of course rebooting

vhs, thanks a lot for checking my IP. It's dynamic so no guarantee that the one I PM'd you is the same IP I had last. I haven't completely ruled out whether the connection is being interrupted at my end but all other websites work fine when this happens.

Hi AF4iK!

Thanks for that info. I does sound more like a connection issue somewhere along the route rather than a site or server issue. As you mentioned you can access the site at work with no issue. There is onething you can try which may provide some insight as to where the connection is breaking down and that would be perform a trace route when the intermittent issue occurs. To perform a trace to the site open a command prompt on your computer if you are using Windows 7 or newer type cmd in the search box at the start menu then click the cmd link. Older versions of windows i.e. XP type cmd in the RUN box.

With the command prompt window open type tracert gtamotorcycle.com then highlight all the results and press enter to copy the trace route results and paste it in an email to Paul a screen shot will be ok too. Or PM me with the results and we will do what we can to get it sorted. Thanks!

Have a Great day!

I actually spent some time last week doing a bunch of trace routes and trying to time it to coincide with the error lol. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary... the longest hop was typically hop #3 which is my external IP.

Maybe it is an issue at my end after all but it's bizarre that it only happens with GTAM. The only thing that's changed is that I moved to Teksavvy and got a VDSL modem/router which my primary router now sits behind. I'll re-examine the setup but in the meantime guess I'll just live with it. I appreciate it all the same guys! Glad the OP had his problem solved :)

Paul, it happens a bit to often. I emailed it the first time but how many times will I have to email it.

However if it helps you guys out, then sure, I will

and it seems like VHS was able to help

I keep getting the same issue, from work, at home and at my girlfriend's house. I'm not too computer savvy, but any other sites I visit work fine.

You'll have to email it every time unfortunately....VHS got your IP unblocked.... However we need to know what it is you were trying to post that caused the error and got your IP blocked to begin with (Server security recognizes certain phrases as adult content) so that we can adjust the rules.

Thanks

Zx600 is adult content, that's the problem

Paul,

Just a thought...

Instead of IP blocking the poster of "adult content" would it not be possible to force the post to be sent to a moderator queue instead?
At least until you get the filtering system tweaked?
This would impact the posting users the least, while achieving your goal of blocking "adult content".
