Got out for my 3rd ride of the season on the Moto Guzzi V7iii.
5 members of the Ontario Guzzi Riders meet up at Stoodley's Kitchen in Elgin.
A little cool when I left home near Lake Ontario but the clouds dissipated heading North.
The ride home was a balmy plus 12 and sunny with little wind.
Hwy 11 north is always fun with no traffic.
The Opinicon Rd south of the locks to HWY 10 had a few spots of sand on the road at the western end.
It was much better than last fall when they tried to cold patch the edge of the pavement.
Of course the patching got broken up and sucked into the middle of the road in the corners.
It was like riding on marbles!
I normally try to avoid the 401 but on the return trip the school busses where out in full force.

If it was me, I'd skip Unity Road and go up through Wilton on Wilton Road to Harrowsmith, north to just north of Hartington at the police station on Hinchinbrooke to Desert Lake road, turn East to go to Sydenham, then to Ruttledge and then to Perth Road. A slight modification of routes that I don't think would add more than 10 minutes or so to your route, given that you're only going a short distance to get to Hinchinbrooke and then going direct to Perth from Sydenham. A heck of a lot more twisty road time than going Unity and then to the Ruttledge intersection from the 401 on Perth (10).

Granted, Desert Lake Road (and Opinicon) will live up to its namesake at this time of year. Sand everywhere.

So many roads! So little time!
I don't take the same route each time.

I meandered out today and ended up at Hotel Kenney at Jones Falls. The dam is at full flow with winter run off and it’s pretty impressive. The hotel will be open for food at the end of the month. The snack bar will be open later. Jones Falls road/Battersea Rd isn’t too bad but there’s a few gravel shaped surprises on a couple of corners.

The Creekside grill in Battersea was hopping. That’s always a good place to have a stretch.

Looks Interesting and will have to check it out the next time I am in the area.

Yeah, it's OK. I had the Porsche up there last fall, the new pavement is great.

I play there with a trio on odd occasions. Live music is a staple there.
