Any or all of you using ear plugs? And if so what brand? Anyone ever get an ear infection from the foam types?*

I'm using these ones:

$20 for 200 pairs! I've been using these for years.. I reuse them as well. Change them out every few days to a new set. Never a problem and super comfortable!

I'm in Mississauga.. I have tons of these so if you want, you can grab a few pairs off me to try them out and see how you like them

Thanks Jay-d. They look like the Canadian Tire brand. Do they mention a decibel rating?

I agree 100% they work very good!!

I always use the yellow ones with the flames on them. Never had a problem, super comfortable and IIRC they are NRR 33. I will check the brand tomorrow.

great for a couple of uses.

I use AOSafety ear plugs from Canadian Tire.

CT Ear Plugs

It only took a few rides for me to realize that ear plugs are an absolute must.

didn't like em, I still have plenty. Good for one time use and then they tend to fall out, at least in my ears. Not that comfortable either.

I've use all types of ear plugs but for comfort you will not find anything better than the Max Lite plugs.

the gdlk ones. Soft and they seal pretty quick. And you can use them for a couple of times after and they still seal great. And they're comfy.

I use anything I come across and do reuse. GF flies a lot and gts freebies from Qantas
Some good sources - thanks guys.

Also use Ultimate Ears i5 for music as they really surpress outside noise well but superb for music.
Big tie use in the music industry and I like the little shut off/skip button I can hang out side my jacket.....

what was that officer??? ....;)

Let's me turn it off for Scala use without stopping as well.

I use MightyPlugs - wax/cotton combo. Work great - use them for about 3 months almost every day, and then you need to pitch them 'cause they start losing their moldability.

Also use silicon gun shooting plugs - they're not quite as comfy or moldable as the MightyPlugs, but they do last longer. Can't remember the brand name, but they came in a green box, 4 plugs per box. Bulk buy of 12 boxes for under $30 shipped. Been using the same pair all summer so far*.

*I Use Mightyplugs for longer distance rides, Silicon plugs for shorter rides (i.e. work, around town etc).

I'm a Sheet Metal worker, one of the noisiest trades,i ware foam plugs 9 hours a day for the last 20 years with no problems at all. You can re-use they even have washing instructions on the box. Have fun and ride safe.
