Ducati 899

You can't have a ducati with a double swing arm. I'm sure there's a religion about that. I will give them that I like what they did with the exhaust. That's it. I'd take an 848 over that.

If they left it with the SSSA then I would be interested, there is a lot of talk about it and people not liking this addition and the only ones piping up and liking it are the ones who ride the 749/999 riders.

That's a nice looking Kawasaki.

^^ That comment sums it up. Although if this is the current form, this may increase the price of the single-sided swingarm 848's until the next iteration arrives if it looks like any other run-of-the-mill SS. ORRRR Maybe they sell a plethora of these because now everyone can own a Duc?

Aluminum frame, wet clutch, standard swingarm. Ducati has filtered out nearly everything that makes it a Ducati. Next up, more than 2 cylinders.

I wonder if it has the horizontal rear shock like the 1199. This looks like a pretty basic model built to a price point. I'm sure Ducati will have an upgraded "S" model with Ohlins suspension and some other goodies. I must agree that it doesn't look right without the single sided swingarm.

I like it, but 899 as a "middle weight"?
with 150hp to 160hp, that's open class territory...

Didn't notice that the first time round. So by their logic the 929 Fireblade was a middleweight? Lmfao

This is bigger than the 851 which kicked it the SS era off for them, and 17cc off the benchmark 916!!! How are they going to homologate this thing?!?! Anyone remember the ol' days when SBK pitted the 916, then 996 up against a 750cc cap for the inlines?!?! So what the hell class is the 899 gonna run in?!?!?!

Is it gonna run with a banana in an air intake and a 20kg sack of potatos strapped to the tail section?

It's still beautiful bike. But like others the dbl swingarm ruins it for me :(. Even my 796 has ssa. Ducati what are you doing? Lol
