Drz400sm vs wr250x

Hey guys have a klr650 brand new and hate it looking to trade it on for either a drz400sk or wr250x. I like the 6 speed tans on the yami and fuel injected. But most of my riding is in town or country roads 55mph some highway for about 5-10 miles. Which bike is better all around and how would they fair on the highway at 70 mph
 
DRZ doesn't really have the legs for lots of highway riding, you'll be fine for 5-10 miles though, it's 5 speed and you're gonna wind it out to hit 120-130. If you're gonna spend most of your time on surface streets it would be a lot of fun though.
 
i had the wrX for 2 years. it was a good bike. EFI so hassle free. power wheelie? hmmm not sure if either bikes have the torque for it. even if they can power wheelie, by the time you bring front wheel down you're going over 60kph. better to practice clutch wheelies. you can bring it up going 20kph or less.
 
I had a Drz 400 sm and I could power wheelie in 1st and second. But found it much better to clutch it up. I did a lot of wheelies with that bike. It's actually easier to wheelie than my hypermotard with double the hp. Like it was said already Drz is fine on the highway for a short jaunt. And it as an absolute blast in the city.
 
What do you want out of a bike? The KLR650 will be better on the highway than either of the other two

For sure my klr rides like a beauty on the highway plenty of torque still even when going 70 but i can only wheelie in first popping the clutch
 
My Drz would do 147 km/hr indicated. It was sock. I still wanted the big bore kit tho

Its pretty dang heavy and with the 6 gallon tank its super top heavy and tippy. Handles great on freeways though and it is actually pretty torquey. Too me though it feels more like cruising dual sport rather than a hit the rough trails and play dual. Plus with gas tank size and fairing on the front its pretty bulky. But if your doing just light fire roads and city and freeway driving its a great bike for you but just doesnt fit me. Im 21 and want something light and small that i can throw around easier and bash on.
 
No sense pounding square peg into round hole. If you can't make use of and enjoy KLR get rid of it. If it were mine I'd buy a 19in front wheel, 320 rotor kit, fork brace, cartridge emulaters and lowering link. Then I'd bash it all over the gravel roads exploring etc and ride home on the hwy in comfort.
 
Ok so just went and test drove a drz and if felt a 50 cc pit bike maybe i like my klr more than though lol
