Does Brake Fluid Dry?

I'll be switching over to custom ss braided brake lines soon, but I need to bring the original lines over to the shop as a reference (no kits are available). Once I drain the calipers, hoses and master cylinders, will the residual brake fluid dry up over a few days? What precautions should I take?

It will not dry, the old fluid will be flushed out when you install the new lines and re bleed the system....

Why dont' you just get Johnny to build you customer lines as you wait?!

Because I hate standing in line. Ba-dum-tish!

I suppose I could, but the Burgman (aka The Tupperware Nightmare) has lots of goofy panels and fasteners to remove. The rear has a bar mounted master/lever (no clutch remember). That line snakes through the engine/CVT compartment. It's probably best to gather everything up and drop them off.

Pro6 and Parker Bros are minutes away, so I'm spoiled for service too.

Gah, that rear rubber brake line is a real piece of work. It snakes up the right swingarm to a special bracket/fitting, turns into a steel line (like a car), pierces the trunk tub/fender, runs atop the CVT to another bracket/fitting on the left side, goes back to a rubber line, snakes alongside the engine, over the throttle bodies and up behind the radiator to the handlebars.

I'll leave that one for a winter overhaul--almost all the body work would have to come off. Not my idea of fun.
