Do motorcycle tickets affect you car insurance?

I got followed home by a peel undercover at 1230am no plates no insurance all the way home. Got 4 tickets. 1 speeding ticket going 93 in a 50, 1 obstruct plate ticket, 1 no insurance slip ticket, and 1 riding after hour with m1 ticket. This officer was very nice to give me just a insurance slip ticket and obstruct plate instead of worse tickets. Now my concern is do convitions on a motorcycle affect you driving record and will car insurance take these tickets into consideration for upping my car premium? Very grateful for the officer giving me a break and I sure wont be riding like that again haha.

These tickets are against your license, you only have 1.
That being said not all tickets are moving violations which affect insurance, some are ‘fix it’ tickets. Based on your description above if you’re convicted of the speeding it will affect your insurance, the m1 ticket may as well since it’s a breach of your license conditions but I’m not certain. The others are fix it tickets and even if convicted should not result in an insurance penalty.

However I have heard of insurance companies penalizing people with many tickets on file, moving violation or otherwise. I’m sure an insurance specialist here can debunk that.

You dodged a huge bullet by not being charged with ‘driving with no insurance’. You owe that cop a steak dinner.

I read it that he did get a ticket for no insurance.

A ticket for no plate and a ticket for no insurance ?

he got a ticket for failure to produce proof of insurance (your pink slip) and the other ticket was obstruct plate not 'no plate'.

Clearly he had neither and the cop cut him a BIG break.

Double the speed limit with no plates, license or insurance. People like yourself are the reason we get a bad rap and have to fork out $$ for insurance.

They are going to affect your vehicle insurance.
1 speeding violation
1 licensing violation
2 non-moving tickets (which insurance companies also look at)

Its pretty shocking you didnt get "operation of a motor vehicle without insurance" ticket. He let you ride off after the tickets?

When it becomes apparent in court that OP never had insurance, whats stopping them from hitting him with that charge?
If not then anyone riding dirty could just carry around a fake slip with a valid policy number.

they will only prosecute on the evidence provided by police (as i assume the rider is not going to take the stand).

Cops notes probably say he pulled over a driver who was unable to provide his insurance slip. He issued a ticket for this violation.

If the cop did not ask or do his diligence to check for valid insurance at the time then the driver walks on it. (we all realize he got cut a break)

However, maybe you`re right; maybe the Justice asks a question that leads to an additional charge in court, maybe not.

If the tickets that were written up were only for the obstruct-plate and the failure-to-provide-insurance-slip ... Neither of those tickets are moving-violations. Thank your lucky stars, pay those tickets, DO NOT try to fight them in court, accept this as a learned lesson, get properly plated and insured ... and calm down.

And yes, you only have one driver's license, and your insurance for all of your vehicles is based on your driving record. Get a ticket with one, it affects your insurance rating for all.

I guess I'm a skeptic. I don't think we are getting the entire story here.
And the op ends the post with..."haha"? Really!

Your post is confusing.

But yeah, tickets you receive on your motorcycle affect your car insurance because you have one drivers licence.

How did you get off with no insurance? There is literally no excuse lol

Probably because he was already home and a tow wasn’t needed. Start to remove mandatory reactions by police and you can get breaks.

I don't buy the story. Not with the 92 in a 50.
i don't think it's too far fetched. I've known others who could have a rough decade of their lives ahead if the cop opted to do so.

That being said, there's always 3 sides to every story.
