I really don't know what's the story behind this. It is new mint and fits like a charm thanks to my oversize cranium.
Rich older seller in premium house - looks like they were clearing stuff out but did not get the impression he was a current rider 🤷‍♂️
Garage stuffed with the usual upper end bits, best house in the area. Very amiable couple.
Solves my aging helmet problem tho bit of a pain to get off. Good fit to put it on with the balaclava. Only had one EIM in and helmet was quiet even at 90 kph tho the usual whistle when the visor was up full. Sun visor was easy to open and comes down a long way into the visual field...not so easy to close...very stiff.
Was sweet to have a new visor....$50 is less than the cost of a new visor for C3
Won't be so good for photography - pretty narrow FoV but both cameras now have their LCDs working at least.

Also discovered the CB500F would do 400 km on a tank but it was pushed far far into the reserve.

There is even a touch of red trim to satisfy me tho it's not a hi-viz lid at all.
Maybe get a couple of those transparent hi-viz stickers that catch the sun.

Seems decent. How old is it? How much riding are ypu doing in the dark these days? It sounds like most of your riding is during daylight so if you want visibility, hiviz yellow or orange stickers would make a bigger difference imo.

Brand new current model. I do suspect the wrong size was purchased as few can wear a 2XL.
5 year warranty ...can't find a mfg date anywhere on the helmet. The N87 was discontinued in 2022. Most early reviews from 2023 on 80-8 - so couple years old at most and unused. No box but the original bag which is nice as it IS a chunky helmet
1.6 kg ....vs 1.6 on my C3 Pro - so no change there.
I'll do my usual tricks with reducing wind noise by damping the speaker cutouts.
Not sure it will fit the AirPods - will try tomorrow.
From the reviews it's an average helmet....not a lot to write home about....but for $50 and comfortable plus current ECC rating ...I'm pleased. :coffee:
.....

Rarely riding at night tho I enjoy it....many critters about outside the CBD,
I'm thinking the tropical sun will light up the black ones enough to catch the eye but I may be incorrect. Looking for something that will flash in the sun.
Maybe will find some RED  Hi-viz tape. This will do

This might be over the top

Any of the black "reflective" stickers I have seen are retro-reflective. The light coming in is sent straight back out. Good when lit by headlights but will send the light from the sun back into space and not into drivers eyes where you want it.

During the day, I find colours much more effective for visibility than reflectivity.

I'd just go full old-man and use the red/white tape. I don't care how I look and I don't want to be a hood ornament.

Well that's kinda silly.

We should all be totally talking about politics on a motorcycle forum instead...
I bought valve stem covers the other day for my KLR 😉

Probably paid more for them than op paid for the helmet, you know the Canadian dollar doesn’t carry much value

Thanks
Helmet is working out pretty well - easier on than I expected, still a struggle to get past large ears getting off but I forget to grab the chin straps to expand it. It is a very comfortable fit for me....shame the sun visor has malfunction but think that will be resolved.
Waiting on new IEMs ...my current ones are failing. I might explore some active noise suppression IEMs but I'm still a bit skeptical.
The Apple Airpods simply not sufficient volume and doubt anyone is offering behind the neck IEM with ANC.
Guess I could revive my wired Shure IEMs via an adapter. Good sound, good seal - awkward interface as no inline control - a bit rough on the ears as wire has to loop over. Worth a shot as I do like the sound. The behind the ear cheapies I have are fine for audiobooks but suck for music.

My $50 Rev'it gloves are getting broken in now and with the working throttle lock even better so I get relief from the return spring. Have an appointment for the risers a week Friday .....hoping helps my neck.

FWIW, I have ANC on a few pairs of earbuds. Imo, it's mostly worse and I leave it off. In situations with wind, the ANC can start pumping in a feedback loop and the noise is both louder and more annoying. When riding, I am happy with good passive protection.

I am forever spoiled with the Sennheiser Momentum headphones which every day I marvel at both sound quality and ability to mask sound. Bit of a high bar for IEM.
Bought these as my old EIMs failed in one ear but not comfortable with them yet. Might go back.

I can't locate my foam tips to try them properly.
Uhoh RED ones

Oh they do have ANC ....hmmmm.
With 10 hours of playtime even with the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on, you'll have enough power to block out the noises and keep the music going all day.-
Pulled the trigger on them and set up return for the others. Figure $20 worth it for the ANC, like that style of tip better and THEY ARE RED  :sneaky:

Helmets are somewhere between condoms and TVs on my list -of-things-I-won't-buy-second-hand.

Just picked this up for great dollar amount.

Was only worn once IMG_5348.jpeg

Thanks
Yeah - waiting on the IEMs and gloves working out well tho need more riding time to break in. Can't ride for at least a week after minor surgery today ....
