Today June 23rd looks good for a sailplane ride and it's a nice motorcycle ride to get to any of these places.
You would want to get there around 11 ideally for soaring but the day looks good all around. Free wireless and don't be intimidated. $100 for a ride that you will always remember.
You might, like some get hooked as I did and end up a pilot. ( lowest cost to get a solo licence of any flying - about $2k and can be done in a month or less and that includes all the training and flights ( 40 flights ).
Exceptionally safe - you are up with a highly trained pilot some of whom might even be airline pilots in their spare time
This was my riding buddy and he had fun big time - if you can get that plane do so.....
Instructor in the back flies the plane but will let you take control once up in the air ( it's not hard to fly at all ) Take your camera

These are the two clubs and lots of info - they are all volunteer and many are professional pilots having fun.

Then if you don't stick there head up to Chatsworth and check out the MotoCross park there.

for a different kind of flying photo
Again nice people - and free wireless
Always fun to watch - lots of photo opportunities for both.
Good roads to the north and east to loop back on.
