Cute road stories

I was on a road trip with 2 brothers last weekend and thought I might share some road stories. We left Saturday afternoon and headed for Bancroft area, did I mention how hot it was? We wound up doing Calabogie and spending the night in Ainsworth. Sunday morning looked like rain, so we headed for North Bay, stopping for a late breakfast in Chalk river at an old greyhound stop where we went back in time and had real food! Plentiful and fresh! Off to North Bay and a coffee stop. From there we were thinking Sault St Marie, but thought it was ambitious, so we made Espanola and settled for the night.
Monday morning we headed down to Manitoulan for a visit with Carol and Earl. We also discussed taking the ferry to Tobemory and heading home from there. So, we lined up for the boat and went for breakfast, got there at 10:58 and we're told we had 2 minutes for breakfast. There was a young family there as well, mom, pop, 3 little girls... I noticed little Shelby when she walked by our table and did a faceflop. She was a tipical 4 year old, bored and curious! She walks up to me and says "Hi", so we had a little chat until her Mom called her to finish her breakfast, what a cutie! Our breakie comes and we're chowing down when the family gets ready to leave, little Shelby comes up yo me and says "hug", ever see an old, dirty bikers heart melt? Gave her a hug and said our goodbyes, then she goes up to Boyscout and asks for another hug, adorable is a word often thrown around...but. Her Mom made the day with the comment "come on Shelby, you can't run away with bikers until you're 30".
On to the ferry where we had to see if we we're gonna get on. Of course we did as bikes go on first. Road to Tobemory and headed home. Nice little getaway and only 1450K's with great friends and no rain!
When folk ask why we ride...... I dunno!

Oh god, my heart melted too just by reading your story. This past long weekend we originally planned to go to tobermory n take the ferry and hit parry sound. We had a last minute revision and went to parry sound directly. From there we rode to algonquin and ottawa. We also touched a bit of quebec. All back roads and it was awesome.

Great roads, great scenery, and more importantly great time with a bunch of great friends. What more can i ask for?

That's a long road trip!

I am a piano technician (hence pianodude). I started taking my bike on service calls years ago. I love pulling up to an old ladie's house dressed in my Joe Rocket gear with helmet in one hand with my tuning tools in the other. Most older folks still think the tuner will show up in dress pants and a tie so it sometimes takes a while to convince them that yes, I am the guy they called to fix/tune their piano. It is also a great way to mix business with pleasure....
