BROCK -- A man and woman are both in critical condition after their motorcycle collided with a car in Brock Township over the long weekend.

Police say a 52-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman from the Holland Landing area were riding a motorcycle when it hit the rear end of a car at about 11:23 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 1.

Witnesses at the scene said both vehicles were southbound on Regional Road 23 near Sideline 17 when the car stopped to make a left turn and the motorcycle hit it.

The male motorcycle rider was airlifted from the scene and taken to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, while the woman was taken to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and later transported to St. Michael's by ambulance.

A section of the road was closed for several hours while police from the collision investigation unit collected evidence.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or road conditions were a factor in the collision.
Police are asking anyone who has information or may have witnessed the incident to call Constable Alan Ouellette at 905-579-1520 ext. 5272 or contact Crime Stoppers with an anonymous tip at 1-800-222-8477 or www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca.

It's never good when the Chopper lands at St. Mikes, hopefully both will pull through!
