We went on a trip to Costa Rica recently, thought Id share some pics:
Spent half the time with her family/friends, the other half touring around the country, some highlights:
The roads are in incredible shape, think Appalachian mountains set in a tropical setting, and you're not far off
There are LOTS of bikes and riders everywhere, the commuters use old small cc no-name chinese bikes, the recreational riders use the same cool european/japanese bikes like we do.
She had to go to the ER for a minor beach injury and had my first experience with private healthcare, its superior in every way.
The most impressive part of the country is you can go from urban setting, to tropical and biodiverse jungle, to spectacular beaches, and big mountains all within a 2 hour drive.
I also like that they can be environmentalists and conservationists while still keeping old/cool cars and bikes and not be so anal and anti fossil fuel
All in all, a pretty chill country with chill people
