Are you going in too fast? Slow down and see if it starts working.
Could be you weren't going as fast on the GS.
 
Check you tire pressure and tell us what it is at.
This bike steers itself when properly adjsuted.
 
Tire pressure and profile are basic checks. Is the bike's suspension stock, or has it been altered? IIRC the stock SV springs are well suited to someone who is 120 pounds, in full gear. If the front end has been upgraded with stiffer springs, higher viscosity oil, and/or Gold Valves, then you're likely to ride higher in the front unless your weight is suited to the springs/preload. Has the back end been lowered or is it running with a different shock than stock? It will ride lower. Either will result in slower steering and more effort, for the same result.
