clutch help please

Hello, I put a new clutch lever on my bike today and now I'm having issues with my bike when i give it full throttle in any gear. The bike just revs out like I'm doing a rolling burnout but I'm not since it's only a 250. On the highway I can't go pass 110km due to it just revving out. Any ideas?

How much free play do you have in the lever? You should be able to move it about 10 -15mm before you actually feel any resistence (check your manual for your bike's specifications!)

Clutch cable is being pulled causing your clutch to partially disengage. Don't ride it that way for long or you'll be putting a new clutch in.

There's no play in the lever, I got the bike last year and it didn't come with a manual.

There has to be play in the lever... That's probably your issue... Check out Mean Machine's post above:

What some people will do, is throw a dime or a quarter in the gap between the lever and the perch, and then use the adjuster to just bring out the slack. Remove the coin and you'll now have enough slack in the cable.

I just sort of go by "feel", but my clutch engagement changes with the intense heat my dirt bike builds up... I'm a clutch abuser.
