No, I use it with the bike on the side stand. A little care is required when rolling it onto the rollers to ensure things are straight.

I usually ride solo so I use a piece of wood - 2 x 2 x12" - that I prop under the offside spool on the swingarm. Easy. Also doubles as a tent peg mallet and can be used to crack walnuts too. And it just tucks under a bungee cord so takes nearly no space.

And I use the Dupont stuff too.
