Cdn Credit card to pay for US fuel that requires ZIP code.

Just came back from a trip to Deals Gap. The postal / zip code "trick" did not work AT ALL. This is with a fairly recently issued CIBC Mastercard.

Worked for me on my trip to Va Beach. Maybe its your card? New security system? Or maybe its a visa thing?

Just got back from 10,000 km trip to Colorado/Yellowstone. Every time I was asked for ZIP code using my Scotiabank VISA card the postal code plus two zeros always worked! Saved me a lot of time :p
 
Was in BMO the other day and they actually had a small display explaining the postal/zip trick for travelling in the states
