unfortunately i learned the hard way:crybaby:, new rider practicing braking in parking lot, i have issues with very tight front brakes, IE, brakes don't have much play from light braking to hard braking... hope I'm describing that right. is this normal, and i need to learn how to brake?, or is there a way too setup brakes to be a little more forgiving?

New rider? You wouldn't have the grip of death on your levers by any chance would you?

Nice and easy does it unless you really need to stop in a hurry.

possibly, what would you recommend??

Probably grip of death as JC said. What year 125 do you have and did you buy it used or new? Maybe a previous owner was messing with them?

If you weren't 2.5 hours from the GTA I would come have a look at it as I have an 08 [had it for 3 seasons now]

Just experience, with that comes confidence and with that you'll learn that you don't have to white knuckle the bike all the time.

Don't worry, we all started out like this. If you relax a little more you'll probably find you ride better too.

i have a 2012 CBR125R try gently squeezing the lever with only 2 fingers. If you grab a 5 finger hand full shes gonna nosedive on you. 2 or 3 finger grip will keep you from pulling too hard or to fast.
remember the MSF class thats what they taught ya.

If you think the CBR125 brakes are strong.. wait until you get dual discs and a radial master cylinder..

If you're braking with 5 fingers you should probably put your left hand back on the grip.

Hard on breaks? Relax grip. GWS.
