Cargo....wow...good writing and evocative...glad you are back....been there done similar in a number of aspects and even in that same area ( Dutch Oven was a welcome oasis - still recall just how much water came out of my boots. )
Decades ago but you sure brought it back.
 
Got caught in in 10 min after leaving work, drenched in seconds as the shower hit while on 400. 10 min later from heavy rain the front cyl on fiances sv650 (took that to work today) cut out, ended up limping it up the highway to hwy 9, Local power outtage in the area around 9 and 27,decided to pull into the plaza, removed the plug wire, got the water out and keep going home. btw, an sv650 firing on one cyl is not a fun bike to ride.

Fun times.

after most of it passed there was a wicked light show in the south / south west at about 10:30pm. we chilled with some coldies watching it lightin up again and again over lake ontario
 
Well about bloody time some decent weather. Still a bit windy, still hot but not bad for either and some decent sun.
Lots of bikes up at the Forks.
