Hi, i'm looking to buy my first bike. I found a used import bike in Toronto. Can someone help me checking the bike? and test riding it? The seller agrees to let me test ride in a parking lot.

I can buy you lunch and beer! Or we can go for all you can eat sushi! (my fav)

Please PM me, and we can arrange to meet at the sellers place. Hes located in Scarborough.

For all that is holy, don't buy a grey market bike as your first. Do you mean imported from the US or "never sold in north america"?

Its a yamaha imported from Japan. However it shares lots of parts with NA models. Also parts are available oversea. I hope the condition is as good as its said.

Probably worth look at the bike alone first before you bring someone. Buying a motorcycle can be a PITA. People will list a bike as mint condition never been dropped with clear damage on the bars and fender. It can be a total waste of time.

I dont mind meeting someone on here to have a chat over lunch or couple drinks. So if the bike isnt great, i can make a friend. We wont have time wasted. I'm happy to learn anything from experienced rider. I'm also looking for advice on picking safety gear. Reading on internet is nothing compared to a conversation with someone.

Way too many issues to be wary off. Is it certified for Canada? You will not know the history of the bike, and imports are often insurance write-offs from other countries, or something buried underwater in a hurricane or tsunami.
