I've tried searching but there is a lot of conflicting information here. This is the situation. I have my M1. I'm doing the safety course and will assume I get my M2 in two weeks. I bought a bike. But the back of the ownership, where the seller signed it over to me, says I need to register in six days. I can't seem to find anyone who will insure me with just an M1. But the MTO website says that I need to show proof of insurance to register it.
Can I go to service Ontario to register the bike without insurance? I'm happy to just have the registration with my name on it so I'm the legal owner and then go back in two weeks with the safety, the M2, and the insurance so I can get plates for it.
I'm equally happy to wait two weeks so I only have to visit Service Ontario once, but I don't want the sale be invalidated or something if I let the 6 days expire.
Any help is appreciated.
