To the OP: unless I missed something in this thread....but why not take the weekend safety course, get insured and you'll be able to ride anywhere you want......and SAFELY ?
I've taken the course. Passed. I have my license, I have full coverage insurance on the bike (liability, collision, fire, theft, all perils), the bike is registered but with no plates, I need a safety to get plates, I need tires to get the safety and if you've read my other thread you can see what terrible luck I'm having finding tires.
I've been riding around the subdivision based on the advice here and my own understanding of the law. I (jointly) own the property and the police can't enter the sub division without being summoned by a resident (or seeing a crime/fire etc in progress). I've had no issues as of yet... EXCEPT - the subdivision is riddled with speed bumps so the extent of my practice has been accelerate fast, slow down fast, bump repeat.... I want to drive at 50+km/h for more than 2 seconds
