Can I practice in parking lots? Private property? Private roads?

I've taken the course. Passed. I have my license, I have full coverage insurance on the bike (liability, collision, fire, theft, all perils), the bike is registered but with no plates, I need a safety to get plates, I need tires to get the safety and if you've read my other thread you can see what terrible luck I'm having finding tires.

I've been riding around the subdivision based on the advice here and my own understanding of the law. I (jointly) own the property and the police can't enter the sub division without being summoned by a resident (or seeing a crime/fire etc in progress). I've had no issues as of yet... EXCEPT - the subdivision is riddled with speed bumps so the extent of my practice has been accelerate fast, slow down fast, bump repeat.... I want to drive at 50+km/h for more than 2 seconds :(

To the OP, if the parking lot has no barriers, and there are no visible signs saying no trespassing, you should be able to ride around on the private property without issue. If the police show up, be prepared however to get the bike home by a means other than riding it (truck, tow etc) to avoid getting a ticket etc that way.

Once the you get the bike insured, I'd say "Ya"...heck I practiced in big empty parking lots when I was learning...never got hassled.

However, because you are not insured, you cannot even ride to a parking lot.

As for practicing in the condo parking lot? I say no, you might get security on your butt.

No security here. It's actually a condo subdivision of townhouses with unassumed streets. So I'm practicing on some nice twisties, too bad they're riddled with speed bumps.

Nice twisties? With speed bumps? In Toronto, outside your condo. Lol
your head will explode when you see real twisties.
