Caliper and rotor painting advice

Does anyone have any tips on painting calipers and rotors?

I am going to repaint my calipers black. What's the best way to mask off the "brembo"? I was thinking some liquid masking like nail polish?

Also spray vs brush?

I am also thinking about painting the black part of my rotors (see picture)

umm... do those brake parts not look black eneough for you?

i think regular car brake paint from crappy tire should be ok...someone correct me if I'm wrong please...
 
Canadian Tire has a caliper paint that is high heat and chemical safe made by VHT if I remember correctly

They are black yes. They are full and weathered. I want to make them look new and bright

You can try G2 caliper paint. It's 2 step epoxy and holds up very well to the elements and chipping. Did my vehicle calipers with it last spring and still looks great. I used a plumbing brush to apply.

If it was my caliper I would put the brembo lettering face-down on a flat sanding surface to refinish it after I painted around it, then seal the fresh metal by brushing clear-coat nail polish over it.
 
Have you considered powdercoating? I know it's not as cheap as painting but it lasts a lot longer. :dontknow:

That's the best way to do it.

Powder coating also works, but you need to completely disassemble the calipers and have a good shop be careful not to get powder near the piston areas, holes, threads, etc.. Brembo does powder coating on new calipers, but before final machining.

The VHT stuff won't last long on brake components, it's temperature proof the paint scratches easily.

I will do this.. G2 is at Canadian tire?

Not sure. I purchased mine from Amazon.ca

It's pricey, but a little goes a long way. I did 4 automobile calipers and still have almost half left.
