Title.

Would this be cause for concern at all? Bike was bought from a insurance company.

Could it have possibly been a salvaged title ie.in a bad accident and written off, and then rebuilt with some plastics and sold as theft recovery?

Only concerns I can think of is same as buying any vehicle used. Make sure title has no liens, look it over carefully for signs of abuse or neglect. If it looks mechanically sound etc and the price is right, buy it.

Considering the key situation do hondas have unique keys to each bike? something about HISS keys or immobilization keys?

Thanks for the replies regarding HISS.

Anyone else got any tips/advice for buying theft recovery? I mean is it dumb luck that they found the bike fully intact and unharmed or could it have possibly been an insurance scam by the previous owner? Either case i dont think it would affect me much, just trying to get some insight from the more experience people on here

ide be very interested in buying a theft recovery. pm me where you are getting them from if you dont mind.
bike will be worth less, harder to sell just because of its title history but that doesnt mean there is anything wrong with the bike. ide make sure its gone over by someone competent because you never know what small parts may be missing.

considering its from a dealership the price compared to other similar bikes is about the same. so if we include dealer taxes then not really a deal at all. if we just take the price without tax then pretty good deal.

But considering the total price ill be paying; not that much better

Just look for a private sale, chances are you will take a big hit when it comes time to resell due to the history.

I'm sure you can find a great deal if you're patient.

For same price I wouldnt bother. Even in good shape it would have to be significantly discounted to even consider it - you never know when you might want to resell and there's nothing worse than being stuck with a bike you don't want anymore.
