Has anyone installed clear Stompgrips bubble-free before?

I'm not patient enough to do it myself, i'd be willing to offer beer for a hand with these!

In St. Catharines.

I used a heat gun with my cheap eBay one. Worked well and no peeling or bubbles. Yet.

No discoloration or glue problems using a heat gun? I read to stay away from them for stompgrips.

I've heard the only way to get them on bubble-free, is to let the bike/grips heat up in the sun, and then press them down row by row with strong fingers or a tennis ball. Peeling the backing off bit by bit as you go.

I installed those on my first bike, and I loved them. A few other GTAM riders saw it and told me that they were impressed that I had very few bubbles. I basically did what you described. I did it on a really hot day, and let her sit in the sun for about 30mins.. then just pressed that sucker on as hard as I could. There were still some bubbles, but I worked those out over some time. I think next time I will just buy black solid ones.

one way of gettin rid of small bubbles or air pockets, is to use a small needle and poke a small hole where the bubble is and press it down.

visually you wont even see the whole unless ur are examining it from an inch away, but it does get rid of the bubbles!

^ I went with the TechSpec's myself, but I haven't gotten around to installing them yet...
How are the Stompgrips on your gear? Apparently they put some wear on your jeans/leathers!?

an adheasive will not go yellow unless you use far too much heat!

if your afraid of too much heat, use a hair dryer. Heat up the tank first and then your pads. Start at the edge, and work it along slow. Most peoples problem is they try and go too fast.
