We can all decide to make choices to limit money sent to china. Most of us arent willing to follow the path that hurts china.

I think you make a important point in modern consumerism: nobody bothers to know how something is made, the social aspect of it ( in a lesser but important way), how to properly care about said bought thing (which would imply if it's worth buying in the first place). People just want stuff, and that's it.
So the culprit, IMO, is mostly the people buying, not a necessarily the questionable industrial state of any country, together with all the procedures that defied logic to make products available for other markets, for instance (like why shipping is so cheap).
